Provided creative direction and Design leadership behind the designs of hero art, packaging and Retail support materials

I loved the challenge of distilling a 5 to 50 hour experience down to a single moment in time. Anything that did not make the cover was repurposed for promotions, PR, events, online or retailer executions. Don’t waste a thing whenever possible.

By the numbers, by platform:

  • 38 PlayStation 1 games

  • 60 PlayStation 2 games

  • 50 PlayStation PSP games

  • 82 PlayStation 3 games

  • 26 PlayStation Vita games

  • 14 PlayStation 4 games

Or to look at it another way — 270 titles, 88 unique IPs, and 6 platforms.

My team produced materials for about 30 games per year: covers, back of box, print and digital manuals, disc art, and speciality packaging. And then we localized the packaging for Canada, Brazil and the rest of the LATAM region.

Action Games

Think fast. Fight faster. The universe is a dangerous place.

The genre includes a large variety of sub-genres, such as fighting games, beat 'em ups, car combat and platformer games. It’s less about the story or the journey than it is bout the gameplay.

Some of the best actions games have a bare bones story to tie together the button mashing moments. (Twisted Metal, for example.) And the ones that deliver both the frantic chaos plus an epic story like God of War, elevate the whole genre.

Adventure Games

Explorers and space cowboys. Treasure hunters and survivors. The scrappy and the bold are all found here.

The adventure games are one of my favorite genres. I’m a comic book fan who read everything I could in the scf-fi and fantasy sections of the bookstore.

But being able to move about in games that have their roots buried deep in the same stories and archetypes I loved as a kid? Best. Time. Ever.

Kids and Family Games

Karaoke, motion-controlled, crafting and good old-fashion platforming are right here.

Folks use family gaming to stay connected and bond. Yes, video games are entertaining and technically screen time, which I know as parents we are all trying to be mindful of, and there are plenty of benefits to video games with your kids. But having an enjoyable, shared activity with your kids will help build a bridge into their world.

So the games better be fun!

Shooter Games

Soldiers, spies, mercenaries, gangsters, and monsters are all found here.

The shooter is a genre unto itself, spanning everything from the very realistic modern-day military games like Syphon Filter and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs franchises, to futuristic warfare like the Killzone franchise, or alternate-history games like the Resistance franchise.

Sports Games

Professional, semi-pro, arcade and extreme sports

This genre has been popular throughout the history of video games and is one of the oldest genres in gaming. These games run from the very realistic like MLB The Show to the exaggerated like Motorstorm and Hot Shots Golf.

The games with League representation and Players associations each had a particular set of rules that always required adjusting schedules to meet those outside forces.
